Milad-un-Nabi celebrated in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Mar 10 : Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (saws), was celebrated in Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh today with traditional festivity and religious fervour. The annual procession of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (''Peace be upon him'') was taken out with religious fervour and Milad celebrations were in full swing with special congregations at mosques and religious seminaries.Public meetings and rallies were held where speakers exhorted Muslims to strictly follow 'seerat-e-tayyaba' or the holy life of the Prophet. Feeding the poor programme was organised by individuals and organisations to mark the occasion.Mosques, shops and houses were illuminated and decorated in the Muslim-majority old city of Hyderabad and parts of Secunderabad.Green flags were seen on buildings, traffic signals, lamp posts and high-rise structures.Thousands attended the annual 'Jalsa-e-ahmatullilalameen', organised by the Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat, at the sprawling exhibition grounds in the heart of the city.The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) also organised a massive meeting at Darussalam, the party headquarters, last night.Processions started from various parts of the city and the main congregation was held at Mecca Masjid.
